WAM trail – Whitstable Artists & Makers: Ric & Annette in Joy Lane

The WAM Trail (Whitstable Artists and Makers Trail) is a popular, free, open-house event where local creatives in Whitstable, open their homes, studios, and galleries to display and sell diverse original art and crafts. The trail is happening twice a year (May & November/December) with various art forms from painting and ceramics to glass and textiles..
This year’s WAM Weekend will be on 2nd & 3rd May 2026..

.The trail is now in its 10th year and Ric & Annette are usually taking part every year in the beginning of May. However, they will open their studio throughout both long Bank Holiday weekends this year!
So you can visit them from 1-4 May and
then again for from 23-25 May 2026..

The WAM trail gives the public a personal insight into how an artist works within their specialised field. It opens up a wealth of information and interest to pave the way for making new contacts and discovering opportunities for anyone interested in taking up new fields of creativity. It is your chance to visit artists in their homes, to speak to them in person about their work and to find out what is happening in your local area. It is also a rare opportunity to experience a diverse array of high quality work in a relaxed setting; with so many venues to choose from there should be something for everyone. So, plan your trip and prepare to be inspired and surprised...

There are usually around 15 houses that are taking part and their spaces are open from 10am- 4pm. This makes it a brilliant day out and is a fun thing to do for the whole family and anyone who is interested in purchasing an original painting, cards, or prints from the artist.…

.Maps can be picked up from all around town, or viewed via the social media platforms. They have proven to be very popular, as they make it very easy to see where you are, and who is near.
